| I've had great results using Petzlife for 3 1/2 years. A spray on each side of the mouth before bedtime 2x weekly plus brushing daily does the trick. Buddy will be 5 in Jan and he has no sign of tartar in his mouth just snow white teeth. I have recently purchased a product called Cool N Clear recommended here on YT and he threw up with this product. You put a capfull of this product in 24ozs of water. It has a slight minty smell to it. For anyone wanting to try it I will sell it for 1/2 price plus shipping. I believe it was 15.99 plus 8.95 shipping! The small amount of grain alcohol used in petzlife has not bothered Buddy at all. Since a very small amount of this product is being used weekly I wouldn't worry about it. The results are amazingIMO. |

| Awww girl, don't make yourself sick with worry! Little Hootie and Mr. Hobbs will be just fine! I know the little cutie pies will be just fine. Their little teeth may be sore for a few days after but then they'll feel much better (and I'm sure their breath will be really yummy too).

It's still not clear if the OP used too much.

| I have tried Petzlife on Rocky and i have tried Cool N Clear and nothing seems to help, his back teeth look nasty, and i brush but it does no justice sometimes his breath is stinky too.i think im going to have to take him to get his teeth cleaned too.

The manufactures of Cool and Clear do not state that their product will do anything to reduce tartar, only the Yorkietalk member who sells the product suggests this. The manufactures say that their product will freshen breath. On the other hand, the manufacturers of Petzlife claim their product will reduce tartar if used property. The instructions are different for those dogs with tartar already visible on their teeth. You have to use it several times a day, and brush. I think they say that after a month, you should see results, but some dogs can take longer. For those who wish to prevent tartar build-up, or are on a maintenance program, a couple times a week is sufficient.

| I'm telling you, it's next to impossible for me to brush Abby and Daisy's teeth! It's like trying wrestle a wildcat! How in the world do you all get your babies to hold still so that you don't hurt thier gums or poke thier eye out with the toothbrush?

Rumors are instantiated reports. Anyone can sign up for an account. Many people have more than one account at Yorkietalk, you have no way of knowing the validity of their claims. Even if sincere, you have no way of knowing if they used the product correctly.

With all due respect, I remember the post you're talking about and I didn't think the OP was being vicious at all. She was simply sharing what her vet told her and her experience with her furbaby's dental cleaning. It's no different than what a lot of people do here...share thier personal experience. Obviously you like petzlife and I think it's great that it works for Joey, but to each thier own...right? And as for what EllieMae said, her baby has other problems...I don't blame her for not wanting her little to injest alcohol. Tammy

| LOL, that's what Ellie does when I try to use the SoniCare on her. She will NOT let me do it, so I don't know that I'd do if she was like that with a regular toothbrush. Do you have somebody that could restrain them while you brush?

I agree Rocky starts gagging and sometimes his gums bleed because i have to put my finger in his mouth to get the brush in and then when i try and brush he clenches down on the brush so i cant go back and forth and i have tried with a regular dog toothbrush and with the one's that have brushes on three sides i wish he was calm the way he is when i bathe him he's heaven to bathe even to cut his hair but when it comes to brushing his teeth ohh boy.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I use Petrodex poutry flavored toothpaste for Joey. He really likes the taste, and doesn't fight so much. Much of the tooth bushing is actually him chewing on the toothbrush. He does swallow the toothpaste, so this is one of my concerns if brushing with Petzlife, because I agree, that it MAY be possible to get to much alcohol this way.
