I believe my puppy has ringworm. I took her to the Vet and they are running a culture but said they would not have the results for 3 weeks. They ordered a ointment for her just in case it is Ringworm, but I am waiting for them to send me the ointment and I may not get it until next week. Is there anything I can use in the interim???? It is spreading from just one spot near her nose to now another spot on the top of her head. I read on the internet that they said Lamosil Cream would work in just a few days. Is that true??? I already paid for the medication, but I do not want it to continue to spread while I am waiting for it. Please any info would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the store and get regular athletes foot cream. I got some from Wal Mart and used it. Waya had ringworm when we got him and I got it on my belly (that was where he likes to lay). I used the cream and it went away - faster than the vet stuff did on Waya. It is all the same drug.

| Is that normal about the vet needing 3 weeks to get results back on the ringworn tests? That seems like such a long long time?? I am not familiar with it all so I was just curious. I hope your baby feels better soon, poor little thing!!

Oh Waya is okay. That was when we first got him last year. I sort of knew what it was before I took him in and they did a scrape of the skin and looked at it under a black light. They told me right there it was ringworm. Gave me some nasty sulphur dip and cream to put on him. We went ahead and dipped Chuhga also - just in case. It seemd like it took forever for it to go away. I finally went to the human athletes foot stuff and it stopped, but I don't know if it was the human stuff or the end of the dog treatment stuff that did it.

I would get another..ringworm is such a basic problem for vets to see..taking 3 weeks is not acceptable..by then it will spread all over the dog and YOU.
