| what to do? Maddie is 10 months old. She lately is not eating much, unless she can get at the cat food which she loves. Her dog food sits for days without being touched so I bought her some new food. Little Ceasears puppy and I mix that with some of the hard food. She is loving it. I have only done it for 3 days now and last night she pooped all over the place. Is this normal? What should I feed her? Also, any ideas in terms of potty habits and colder weather. Maddie is about 95% housebroken until lately. She doesn't like to go out and she is not using the puppy pads when I put them down she is running to the carpet. I do not know what to do? She won't be able to go out when it is very cold? |

| well she probably pooped all over because of the Caesars. It is really a horrible food. What if you tried a high quality canned food? Like Merricks or Natural Balance? She will probably have loose poop at first because it is a very high quality food and her body needs to adjust to it but i'm sure she'll love it. |

| Please don't let her eat the cat's food. It is really not good for her. There are plenty of good foods out there. I have been feeding eagle pack for about a year now and all 4 of my dogs like it. I only feed dry. |

| yes, please, please, do not let her eat the kittie food, its too high in calories! Little ceasers is pretty much just water! I'm not a big fan of wet food, since the terrier group in general is prone to bad teeth, and wet food makes it worse! I would go for a high quality food as mentioned by other YT folks! when changing your dogs food its best to do so in a three day grace period day 1- just add 3-5 pieces of new kibble in the old kibble day 2- increase the amount of new to the old- half and half should work day 3- give mostly the new food rather than the new....

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | blue buffalo is a good dry food.. supplement with home cooking.. she is obviously hungry.. take her out after she eats and every hour for a while. reward her for going potty in the right place.. consistency is the key.. good pet food is not found in the grocery store. in my area..... only at a petstore. like petsmart.. read the old posts and you will find most people home cooking for their pets.. the dry food is for free feeding..mine love the blue buffalo...
