| Izzy not drinking Hi Yorkie Lovers Izzy recently got fixed and I have noticed that she has not been drinking and I noticed that her pee is very yellow. My boyfriend even noticed (which he usually does not notice these things). I was wondering what I should do? I don't want her to become dehydrated! Any suggestions? I am calling the vet tomorrow as well. Is this normal? Thanks for any feedback!

| If you can't get her to drink, maybe she will lick an ice cube?? Or if you really think she needs some water you can take a syringe (without the needle) or an eyedropper and put some in her mouth. Good Luck, I hope she starts drinking on her own.

| Thank you! I will try the ice cube and syringe and see how she does. I think I'll take her to work today so I can watch her.

| awe, poor baby. I hope she feels better.. Ice cubes are a good idea! How about wet food? it has lots of water to it, so it may help!? (im against wet food, but if she isnt drinking, you gotta do what you gotta do!!!!) or canned baby food? just make sure it doesnt have onion power, since its bad for dogs....

| Adding canned food to her diet would be helpful because it's so high in moisture...If you don't want to go that route, you could always add at least equal parts water to her kibble at each meal so that she has to drink the water to eat her food. Or let the kibble soak in water for a little while (in the fridge) and then feed it to her, so that the moisture is absorbed into the kibble..
