. When I switched from homecooking to NV, my guys experienced no issues whatsoever - just had immediate teensy, hard, non-smelly poos - which is how raw stools should be.

| You might want to join this rawfeeding group: rawfeeding : Raw Feeding for dogs and cats! And if you posted your question over there... I'm sure you'd get a lot of good advice! |

Hmmm, I would be *very* curious to learn of Dr. Amy's source as to how, exactly, the digestive system of a dog has "evolved" over the years. That's a very curious remark she made .

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | OK, just got an email with the total cost with shipping for the NV raw medallions. $185. This is for 6 lbs of medallions. The rest is shipping! Need less to say, I will not be ordering this. I'll try increasing his bone intake and lessen the liver. Maybe this will work. If not I don't what else to do. |

| If you can't get this worked out and raw doesn't seem to be working, you could switch to homecooked but that recipe from Science Diet doesn't look very good for GI issues. Cottage cheese? I think I'd go with something else. You could consult a nutritionist which is the best way to start homecooking but it is pricey. Otherwise you can order a recipe from Balance IT's website. If you do this I wouldn't recommend buying the recipe that tells you how much Balance It to use. I'd get the one that tells you how much and what human vitamins to use. These recipes will contain grains though. That is outrageous for the shipping.

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | There are also freeze-dried medallions, which aren't frozen - so the shipping would be much less (but freeze dried in general is more, in base cost, bc of the extra steps) - so that might be an option. A bag of FD Medallions is usually btwn $20-25, I think. I use them occasionally for travel

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Just wanted to let everyone know; I went to the yahoo website that was suggested and did as suggested by them and yourselves. I am soo happy to tell you all that last nite we did not have to get up to poop! Yea!! I hope this is not premature, but I was excited to tell everyone! All I did was increase the RMB to everyday and decreased the liver. Actually, took the liver away for a couple days. Today I gave Nolee about a quarter size with his breakfast. Hopefully we are headed the right direction!! I also order the NV freeze dried medallions. I will maybe add one medallion a day to his regular meal; or should I just feed it alone for one meal? Then, his PMR for the second meal? Thank you all for your help!!! |

![]() The medallion could be a meal for him, depending on his weight - and/or depending on his other meal. Just to give some perspective - my Marcel (3.3 lbs.) eats 2 total medallions per day, my Wylie (7.5 lbs) eats 3 total per day - plus they usually get a Bully stick or some treats. ![]() I'm so happy for you ! It sounds like the diet was just out of balance a bit.
