| Short Legs on a Yorkie Puppy- Defect or Normal?? I am looking at getting a Yorkie puppy who appears to be healthy and has a good temperament, but his legs are really short and his body is very compact and squared off. Are the short legs a cause for concern or a possible defect? |

| Good Question. My Krissie has little short legs. She is so funny. She is 4lbs 4 ounces. I have a Maltese that is 7 lbs 10 ounces with much longer legs. Krissie can jump onto our bed from the floor and Ollie (my malt) cannot! It is so funny. She is full of GUSTO!!!

| I don't think it is cause for concern.....square and compact are good! Except, of course if it is to the extreme.....just like anything else! Good luck, would love to see pics!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | You've just described an ideal in yorkie shapes...a cobby body.

| Sometimes when I look at Mocha, her front legs seem to be shorter than her back legs I don't know if it's just my eyes or what. Otherwise she seems normal. Very active, she does great jumps |

| Wall-E has stumpy short legs, a hefty chest, and a long body. The other day when I gave him a bath I told my husband he could almost pass for a daschund! I guess all yorkies are different. |
