| I don't think RC is such a great food. the second ingredient is corn meal with is awful. Chewy was on it, and although I thought the small kibble was good when he was small, as soon as he could handle larger kibble I changed him to Natural Balance. He had less problems pooing and his hair got softer and all of his flaky dandruff went away. I think it is ok to feed RC to puppies because there is good fat and the kibble are small. When your puppy hits 4 months or so, i would change to another brand with no corn or byproducts in the ingredient list. |

| As Bruce is transitioning to adult food he is also transitioning to Innova small bites from RC...RC is not a bad food, it is certainly better than a lot of foods, but it is very fatty and contains corn meal. Bruce started getting mysterious itchies like many other pups on YT and I suspect it was due to the corn in RC, hence the transition. I also however do not like the fat content. Unless you are trying to produce a show coat there is no reason to give your puppy such a high fat diet, when Innova or something similar will give just as much protein. It is in the interest of your pets longevity to feed them something slightly more balanced. That is my opinion at least.

I definately agree that RC isn't such a great food. Although it did make the list, I still do not place it in the same category as Innova and Canidae. here is a great website about dog food brands, and what ingredients to avoid.. This person has done a lot of research on types of dog foods, and i know her from another forum, so if you guys have any questions, feel free to PM me. http://www.mordanna.com/dogfood/ Also, if you'd like to compare any brand to Innova... www.naturapet.com | |

| You can't find them in PetCo or PetSmart, You can find them in Specialty Stores (I think that's what they're called). I get them from a Pet Shop (They don't sell animals) It's strictly a Pet Food & Supply Warehouse kinda thing. ![]() But I definately want to try something different for a change. Probably going to try Chicken Soup for the Dog/Pet Lover's Soul. |

| From my experience and research , I know that Royal Canin high in fat and too much in protein, which is not good for pancreas and liver, and it has corn which is lend to itching. Definitely Innova and Canidae are higher quality. ( it has Crude Protein 24%, Crude Fat 14% in Canidae 14,5%, and other natural ingredients) (in Royal Canin for Yorkshire Crude Protein- 28%, Crude Fat-18%) I personally use Innova-small bites for my Yorkie, because I found that she likes it better than Canidae. Also if your dog kind of chunky or tend to fatness, don't buy Innova Evo, because it has more fat than regular Innova. Innova Evo is good for puppies Yorkie up to 6-8 month and thin Yorkie or Yorkie who does a lot of exercise and running. I bought for example Innova small bites bag, it's green bag 3 kg, or 6.6 pounds it cost $11.99 I bought it from www.petspassion.com it's in New Jersey, but I'm sure it is a lot of other stores where you can buy this kind of food, believe me it's good food! |

| I don't know if any of you have one, but we have a Pet Supplies Plus and they carry Innova-I think it's a chain. Urrrr. I gues I didn't realize that Royal Canin had so much fat or protein in it (I guess I didn't know what was considered too much). I just switched a few months ago, and don't want to switch right away again, but it's probably best if it is so high in protein and fat. Question about Innova... a few months ago I switched from Eukanuba to Royal Canin. I was debating over Innova and Royal Canin. I looked at both foods for SO LONG and finally decided to go wth the RC (1, because of the Yorkshire Terrier brand and 2 because the RC was more expensive, so I thought it would be better). Anyway, there was a reason why I didn't pick the Innova. Don't laugh, but I think it was because I saw something on the label that said that the Innova was given to dogs in addition to a raw diet. So, if you give your dog Innova, do you also feed your dog raw foods as well? This confuses me-sorry, I KNOW this is probably a stupid question.

| Innova & Canidae are better foods, imo. RC is far too fatty for a yorkie. |

| Yes.. I can verify that..33% is way high and can well lead to kinney " burnout" as Yorkies can not process that much protein well. It's overload to them.
