| Under the weather. Hi everyone. Sorry Ive been MIA for a while. But Im HAPPY to be back. Anyways... I scheduled Izzy to get spayed on thursday morning. I am not very sure about the entire situation and is kinda wondering what to expect. She is around eight months but she hasnt came in heat yet...at least I dont think. I didnt see any blood or anything like that. Anyways a couple days ago it started raining ALOT. It rained for about two days straight so I didnt get to take her out a lot. She goes to the bathroom outside. And then I ussually lets her play a bit outside. But because of the rain I didnt let her play outside at all and I would only take her out to bathroom on her regular times. Anyways it also started getting super cold. (sixty and seventy degrees) Around this time she began acting kinda depressed. She seemed down in the dumps and her poop got bigger. So Monday I desided to take her out to petco for a little joy ride. And she seemed really anxious on the ride there. Then when we got there she pooped which was fine. And so I let her walk into the store. That is something I never ever let her do before. She wasnt used to the flooring and kept slipping up. (is that because her nails are too long?) Anyways and low and behold she pooped on the floor. Her poop was runny (diarhea) and I was very very concerned because she has never ever had that since Ive had her. She seemed like she just didnt feel well. Now the only difference in her diet is that I have been giving her a LOT of treats. I got her this busy bone from the pet store and she loved it and ate one whole one. I also gave her these lil bone treats that look kinda like those fruity cereal. And I let her lick a lil bit of an ice cream cookie treat(for dogs) that I gave her. Anyways she seems to be feeling a lil better today...but I also notice that every once in a while when I put her in her other crate she will wake up in the middle of the night scratching like crazy. Its not all the time and she doesnt scratch all the time...but...its wierd. Well I take that back she does scratch all the time but it seems like she is scratching her harness. Should I be worried about this? |

| It is really hard (impossible) to say exactly what is going on and how serious it is if this has never happened before. First, I would say she needs to be 100% better by spay day or it should not be done. Are you sure she isn't coming into heat? Is she up to date on vaccines? Is she continueing to have diarrhea? Are her gums pink? Have you tried taking her harness off? The scratching could be an allergy to it.

| ok good. No more diarhea since that day in the store. She seems much better now. Like it was a lil bug or maybe she was just adjusting to the cold...but now its back warm...go figure. Took the harness off and put her leather smaller one on.. Plus I gave her a bath. AND I didnt put her back in that crate. I just let her sleep in her other one. Bought her a nice soft bed. AND vOILA the itching so badly has stopped. It wasnt major anyways...I mean she really only scratched like that late at night like...every blue moon. Sooooo.....Yes. She seems better. Not sure about her coming into heat. I have no idea whats supposed to happen. But tommorrow she gets spayed...sooo.... |
