Liver Shunt Surgery

Bizkit has his surgery for his liver shunt a few monthes ago and i have been so nervous waiting to see if he would be ok.I had the bile acid text done again a few weeks ago, and the vet called last week to tell me that my baby was completely normal now.you just cant imagine how happy i am. I think this was harder on me than it was on him,he done fine through it all.I WAS A WRECK. but they also said there was a risk that more shunts would show up,please pray that this will never happen to my baby,my nerves couldnt take it.

Paisley will have her bile acid test done at the end of October, which will be 3 months after her liver shunt surgery. I hope we get good news like you!

I really hope you do to,if you are like me you are very nervous about it.but i hope everything is good with his test,please let us know.

I'm so glad your baby did well!! Just remember, it's important for you to continue to be mindful of your baby's diet so that he does not blow more shunts or have problems later on...I would continue to BAT every 3-6 months to check how he's doing. I always prefer to be more cautious. My advice is that if bile acids do not come back completely normal, continue vegetarian dog food (could be Natural Balance vegetarian) and some of the supplements.
