| Hi dollys mom. My Gia/s original vet always brings the shot into the room. He ALWAYS has adjusted the rabies, etc to a smaller does cause she is / was so small. she is 2.6 lbs now at two years old. I feel a whole rabies show might cause a rx in her. I am in a delema now because I need to have a dental and I hate the thought of some untrained, unliscensed vet tech doing work in her little bitty mouth. I have fears of the anesthesia too. If anyone has a good vet who will do things right and let me be with my baby, please let me know . i don't mind traveling a bit. |

| I've always been in the room when my pets had their shots. I would find another vet asap.

| I have been through both situations. My previous vet, (they were toooo expensive and no real connection to me) They said that the dogs can act worse if the parent is in the room. I guess I can see the logic, it's kind of like when kids act up around their parents for attention because they know what buttons to push. My old vet always took them back because of that. ![]() The last shot Cassie had at that vet, I asked them to do her nails and let me watch in case they had good hints I could use at home. They didn't hesitate and also brought the shot in too. Unfortunately, Cassie squirmed when the needle was under the skin and backed up into the needle. Later when she was really in pain and worrying me, I brought her back and the vet said that was probably what happened. They gave her anti inflammatory shot and she was better very soon. But if I didn't see it myself, I'd have been a mess and thinking something worse happened and they were covering it up!
