![]() I used comfortis on my 6 month old puppy. She became ill, vomited, dehydrated etc...A large vet bill later....do not use on puppies or dogs less than lowest weight indicated 5-10 lbs.

![]() I was just given this for both of my dogs. Since the puppy isn't old enough to take it for 2 more weeks I haven't used it. I was told that it has to be given with food or they may vomit. My pup isn't 5lbs yet though, so I will keep that in mind. He is only 3lbs I believe, so maybe I should use Frontline on him first? I have heard raves on Comfortis though. It kills the fleas within an hour!

![]() Yes it does takes care of fleas within hours. Having said that, Tinker weighs 3 lbs 6 oz., her reaction was severe requiring hospitalization, IV fluids and meds. These little ones have no reserve and she went down fast. Now my rule of thumb is, the med must have at least a 5 year market history before I will use it. New vet (for obvious reasons) suggested Revolution a topical and so far it has been effective with a market history of 10 years.

![]() I just gave it to my 60 lb dog and so far so good. I understand what you are saying about the little dogs, and I will wait to have him weighed and make sure he meets the age requirements. I hate to put a topical on the pup because we cuddle him so much and I don't want to subject my kiddos to the chemicals in Frontline.

| ![]() Our vet switched Scooter to it from K9 Advantix and we love it. It is so much easier to give him the pill. He used to rub the liquid stuff off his back as soon as I put it on him. One time, even though he had been treated, he got fleas. Long story short, that is when the vet switched us. I won't switch him back. I really like Comfortis. Our vet also recommended Sentinal which I now use too.

![]() Just put my dogs on Comfortis. After struggling with having fleas while on frontline it has been wonderful. Within hours I couldn't find a fleas and since I am in Florida on a lake that is quite amazing! For all my dogs over 5lbs I used the full pill. I do have 2 in the 4lb range and for them I split the pill. They all did great. So far very happy with it.

![]() I split a 5-10 lb. pill for the "first time" useage. Bella's only 3.5 lbs.; Puddy's 5.5 lbs., so I figured if it was good for 10 lbs, it would be good for both of them. I wanted to split it to see if they'd have any reaction; they didn't. Next time I may try one pill each and see how they react, although it's much less expensive to split the pill! My vet charged us $92 for a single 6 month supply.
