				   | I recently found out my baby loves milk when I put some down for my cat and she lapped it up before my cat even noticed. i don't give it to her everyday but maybe every other day now as a midday treat. a friend told me that milk can be damaging to a dogs stomach and now I'm worried. I havnt noticed diarhea but could I be creating long term damage? does anyone else give their dog milk? |

				   | All I know is that a very small amount of dairy products is supposed to be ok, such as a tiny bit of cottage cheese. They are supposed to be lactose intolerant, therefore, it is difficult (if not impossible) for them to digest and that is why it can result in diarrhea. I've never given mine milk. I just prefer she drinks water. She gets a tiny bit of low-fat 1% cottage cheese occasionally. Hope this helps.

				   | When Bailey (my boxer) had to have 3 ft of her intestines removed and wouldn't eat the vet actually told me to try to give her ice cream....I don't know if that was a special circumstance but even without the intestines she handled it okay.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Milk actually causes diahrea in dogs and cats. Although in very small amounts I don't think it would.

				   | I was told to give Cooper a small amout of Yogurt each day to help strengthen the cartalage in his ears. I used Activa. (Only because that is what I ate) and just gave him a teaspoon full a day. But now is is 6 mo. and only as a rare treat. He never got sick though
