| My Miserable Furbaby - Neutered Today Well it's done..my Porkie was neutered this morning and from all indications he's well on his way to recovery. He also had 3 teeth removed and got his microchip so I don't doubt he's a little irritated with us as well as being miserable having to wear the cone on his neck. Other than some diaherra and vomiting once (too much water) his appetite is good and he's beginning to act like himself again. Although we are still concerned about a possible liver shunt, we are watching and waiting to see what happens and hoping for the best

| Awww poor baby. Lil Bit didn't have to wear a cone. they kept him over night so maybe they had a cone on him in there, but nothing after he got home. He acted like nothing happened. but he didn't get teeth pulled. |

| I think it's necessary cause my pup is one heck of a licker and chewer and I don't think the stitches would last very long at all. I just hope we can all get through the next few days with little or no pain.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Awww, little punkin'! Glad to hear he is eating, and I bet tomorrow he will feel much better - it is always surprising how fast they heal. He is really so adorable.

| Gee, thanks everyone. Does a gal good to know so many care I don't know the kind of medication he is on cause they used an injection of some kind but they told us if he needed more tomorrow to just give them a call and we can get it. I don't think he will need it though he seems to be doing fine

| i feel you! My poor Asia got spayed today and I feel like such a helpless mama watching her! She hates the cone and she bumps into things and can't chew her bone! She also had two teeth pulled... poor girl... how long did they say the recovery would be?

| Morning Update Although Porkie was up most of the night this morning he is back to his old self wanting to run, jump and chew everything It's going to be a challenge to keep him quiet as a matter of fact I doubt it's possible..lol If it weren't for the cone you would never know he had a operation yesterday I'm so relieved!

| Girls take a little longer to recover than boys. Go figure...men don't go through as much pain as woman do My Mimi was down for I think 3 days and Timmy was back to his normal self when I brought him home but you still have to manage to keep them calm. Just keep the environment nice and quiet. |

| When my little Derby was neutered it was pretty extensive like a spay because he only had one of his little nutty buddies drop and the vet had to go in abdominally and get the other one. So he had to wear that darn cone too. He hated it so I went to Target and purchased some 0-3 month onesies and put those on him backwards so the snaps were on top (so he couldn't pop the snaps open) and he didn't bother the incision. So you ladies may want to give that a try with your babies that got neutered/spayed today. Just be sure you are with them to make sure they don't bother the incision, but it does give them a little reprieve from that cone. Hugs to your little pups.

| Oh, I feel your pain, Duke got neutered last Friday too. Although he's up and running again, we are still giving him his pain med as the vet suggested, but the worst part is seeing him with the cone on. He too bumps into things and can't scratch his head. I feel so bad but I know we are doing the right thing by neutering them if we're not breeding them....

| Glad to hear he's almost back to his normal self. When Sammy got neutered he had to wear the cone for 10 days. I felt so bad for him! |
