| How Much Does It Cost For Spaying? I will be bringing Lily in to be spayed. I decided that she has too tiny of pups and want to have it done. She has had two litters and the tiny one's in both litters did not make it. (less than 2oz). It was too traumatic for me to lose them too. So if anyone has had their female spayed could you tell me how much it cost? Also, do they have to put them out for the procedure? Will I have to leave her there for a few hours? Any info at all on this I would appreciate. Thanks!

| I was also gonna tell you that they knock them out, usually they spend the nite, my pup was the 1st one done that day and they let me bring her home that evening, thought she would do better home then left there, confined her in her playpen for a few days, she slept the 1st nite, by day 3 she was back to her sweet self and 10 days later went to get her stitches out. |

| Chloe's was 350.00 but they also pulled some teeth and they did give her general anesthesia and she spent the night. It also included the meds for the week.

| I would expect to pay anywhere from $100-$350 depending on the vet and their procedures. Make sure they do pre-op bloodwork before her spay. A spay is the same as an ovariohysterectomy...an invasive procedure. They have to fully anaesthetise a dog to do this, and they should send her home on pain meds as well. She'll also need to be kept still so that she can rest and heal for a LEAST a week.

| It varies so much depending on where you live. I think I paid about $400.

| I just had Dolly spayed on Tuesday. Sad to say she went in heat at 6.5 months old, and I was planning on doing it at 7 months! I had her appt. already! So we ended up doing it while she was in heat. It cost me 408.00 and this included everything plus her microchip. The vet removed her uterus and ovaries. She had it done Tuesday morning, I picked her up Tuesday evening, she came home with 2 pain meds. Metacam and Buprex? She has 10 days worth of metacam, and had 2 days of the buperex. She is 100% back to herself today. |

| Should I Wait? Should I wait until after we sell Lily's pup that she just had before I take her in to be spayed? She is still nursing the pup now (24 days) so now is definetly too soon.

| You should wait at least until they are weaned. having her spayed around the time the puppy leaves (I'm assuming 12 weeks) would probably be a great time to do it.
