Donating YT 10K Club Member | It's usually liquid children's benidryl that's given. 1/4 teaspoonful

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | the dosage for benedryl is 1mg per lb. so 8lbs would get 8 mg of benedry. for a pup under 5 pounds i wouldn't use this. I had asked if i could give it to morgan who's 4.5lbs for reverse sneezing episodes that last longer then 10 minutes and the internalist didn't recommend it.

| IDK if this helps but I was told not to give the liquid because it has to much alcohol in it????( I have not personally checked the bottle) And I know my mom has given the liquid to her dog and it was fine. Just food for thought. And I also was told not to give it to a pup under 5 lbs but here on yorkietalk many have and I did too. A 1/2 of the childrens chewables but another FYI they are discontinuing it.. they make dissolvable strips instead..

| You can get the liquid benadryl dye and alcohol free. That's what I use for Taz and it really helps him a lot. The first time I gave it to him though it knocked him out. I felt so bad. But he has adapted a little and it helps him not to sratch as much if his skin is bothering him. Taz and my husband seem to have allergy bout together
