Update On Stewie
 
Well, we went to the Vet and Stewie peed on her as soon as we went into the examination room. She was happy because she needed a urine sample. It smelled pretty bad.

He has blood in his urine (quite a bit, she said) and it is either a urinary tract infection (I hope) or a kidney infection - which would be very serious. :( I am so sad. He is sad and is not acting like himself.

His urine smells and he is acting strangley when he pees an sniffing and licking himself in his penis area more than usual.

He got two shots and an antibiotic. I hope he feels better soon. I have to take him back after we are done w/ the meds.

I am sorry to hear about Stewie. Hopefully its just a UTI and the meds will take care of it.

Glad you took him in and he is on medication~ Hope he starts feeling good this weekend- Your a good Mommie to him! ;)

Thanks everyone for your well wishes for Stewie.

If your Yorkie's pee smells weird (worse than usual, or just different in general) make sure you check it out. Also, if they are licking themselves down there more than usual, it may be an infection. So, just be careful!

Stewie! What a good boy! You'll be all better soon. Just make sure your mommy gives you your meds on time, and you'll be fine.

Poor Stewie!! I'm so glad you got him into the vet.. the symptoms sounded so much like a UTI so hopefully that's all it is and the meds will clear it up in no time. I hope he feels better soon! :rose:

I hope Stewie start feeling like his old self very soon. I hope is just an UTI and that he will be fine with the antibitoics. Good thing you took him to the vet asap. Please keep us posted. I will have him in my prayers.

Awww, poor little guy! I wonder if it burns when he pees and thats why he licks?? Hope the meds do the trick! Let us know how he is.

Awww...Shoot - poor Stewie ...I'm so glad you took him in too - I hope it's the minor kind of infection and will clear up with anti-biotics - that's really scary for you - I know you must be pretty upset ...but now at least he's getting treatment - I've read alot of these kinds of infections clear right up...I hope he's going to be OK really soon.

Hope the meds work(I'm sure they will)and make sure you have plenty of water around for the little guy

Stewie says thank you everyone.

He's eating right now and gulping down some water. He seems to feel better, but his medicine tastes SO YUCKY!!! I can hardly stand the smell of it -- I can hardly imagine how it taste :( Poor baby. He's getting even more spoiled than usual by his momma. His Cocker Spaniel Cousin, Missy, came to visit today. She brought him a Nylabone and a Get Well card ;)

I hope Stewie starts feeling better soon! Lucy had a UTI about 2 weeks ago, and after the second day of meds she started to feel 100 times better. Hopefully the same for Stewie. Linus sends puppy love his way :)

So glad he's on meds and on his way to feeling better. I wonder what causes this to happen. Did the vet say?
