| Purina Puppy Chow-Healthy Morsels???? I didnt realize what I was feeding my babys. I have ALWAYS used Purina Puppy chow-healthy morsels. BUT after over a year on YT I never thought of actually researching what I am feeding. Now I find myself P'ed off after finding out that it is NOT good for my babys. I have never had any heath problems with any of my pets and my mother who breeds chihuahuas also uses this. BUT I just found out what it actually has in it. Please give me some Ideas on what to switch to. and how to find a dealer. Need to know ASAP as I will NOT feed this any longer! Dog Food Reviews - Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels - Powered by ReviewPost This is where I found out what is in my baby's food!!!! Also Would feeding home cooked meals be better? I am considering this as I do not like all the recalls we had last year and dont like taking that chance.

I Love My Babies Donating Member | Check in searches. One of the wonderful YT people posted a list of good dog food companies. I emailed all of the ones on the list. And I asked for samples of their food, as it is so hard to try and figure out which one is good for your babies, and which one they will eat. Over the last 3 days, I have gotten a lot of samples that were delivered to the door. My puppies think they have died and gone to heaven. They absolutely love this food. The samples are free and you can find which ones your babies like and go from there. It is wonderful! Let me know if you can't find the list.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | So glad you found out about that food and how bad it is! There are alot of great foods out there, and I guess choosing your babies food all comes down to what they like (and will eat!) the best Homecooking is great, however, I personally feed my little ones NV Raw (Nature's Variety Raw) and they love it. It's great because it is balanced and has everything they need in the food Also, Wellness makes a wonderful dry kibble called Wellness Core - it is totally Grain Free which is a huge plus (Grain Free is ALL I feed). The Core comes in 3 different formulas - Ocean, Original, and Reduced Fat. Nature's Variety also makes a really good kibble called Nature's Variety Instinct - another quality, Grain Free food. This also comes in 3 different formulas - Duck Meal & Turkey Meal, Rabbit Meal, and Chicken Meal. I was actually feeding this in conjunction with the NV Raw (I (sometimes) feed 50/50 - dry/raw - other times 100% raw) but my male, the picky eater, decided to stop eating the NV Instinct , so we switched over to Wellness Core and he LOVES the stuff. In fact, that's the ONLY dry kibble the little stinker will eat now Anyway....sorry for rambling There really are alot of great food choices out there and I wish you luck in finding the perfect one for your babies

| Thanks everyone. I think I am going to try homecooking untill I can get some samples of different foods. I would like to see what she likes before I buy a bag of it. Also would swiching her foods untill I find one she likes mess up her belly? I heard that Nutri Source Is okay for them does anyone know any info on this? I did get a sample of it and Essie seems to like it. The Kibbles are VERY tiny. Thanks

| I recently started using Innova. Before Fergie would just pick at her food, now, she gobbles it up. |

Canidae, Eagle Pack Holistic Select, Evangers and Life4K9 are among the best kibbles out there. Raw is even better. Check out this website for more information..... Bark to Basics Healthful, raw pet foods. - Bark to Basics

| I used to feed Scooter Purina One until I started noticing his coat becoming more wirey. It would look great after we got back from the groomers but as time went on, I could tell something wasn't right. He had itchy skin and stopped getting excited about meal-time. My next-door neighbors have a dog that needed to see a specialist. The specialist switched the food they gave their dogs to Wellness. After talking to them about what a difference it made, and knowing what was going on with Scooter, I decided to try Wellness. At first, I didn't know what to think but I swear there is a major difference. Scooters coat is back to being super soft (without any products) and he loves his food. I know you don't think there is a difference now but once you switch, you will never go back. Scooter started on Wellness Just for Puppy but now that he is growing up, I am transitioning him to their adult food. When I visited family recently, their dog loved Scooters food so much that now they have switched their dog to it as well. I think you should give it a try. It takes a week or two minimum to see a change but you will see it. for Wellness Purina/Purina One

We are currently switching Champ from Eukanuba to Natural Balance and it's only the second day of the switch...but he's picking out the new stuff and leaving the old! I haven't noticed any difference in his poop so I guess he's digesting it ok, but is there anything I should worry about? It's so cute watching him pick through his food...when all the new is gone he looks at you like "I'm not eating that crap, give me more of the good stuff!" | |

| My girls eat Evanger or Party Animal canned. They eat Timberwolf Wild and Natural kibble. All are Organic. Some of the Evanger is as close to home cooked as canned can get.

And, for those who switch to raw - you usually don't have to worry about a gradual switch. You can just switch. They still might get ill (as long as 2-3 weeks after the switch) as their body purges out build-up gunk!!!
