| Post teeth cleaning and sick to stomach Hi Folks, Yoshi and Hana had their teeth cleaned and Yoshi's cleaning was more intense than Hana's. Anyway, they gave Hana antibiotics and Yoshi antibiotics and Metacam. Yoshi has thrown up twice in a 24 hour period and his stool was very dark. Any advice? I don't want to feed him if his tummy is so upset, but he seems hungry. I am also concerned about the meds and if they are making him sick. |

| Thank you I did talk with the vet today. They suggested that I reduce and change his food to something lighter. I did that and he seemed better at first, but just threw up again. I will keep a very close eye on him and call immediately if he throws up again. |

| I know my Harlee felt sick after getting anthesia...(I did too after surgery and I threw up) With antibiotics, it good to take yogurt...It helps with the tummy too...A little plain yogurt...Wish you well...

| Winston was sick from the general anesthetia also when he had his teeth cleaned. He had diarrhea and vomited once I believe. He was shaky and not himself for a day, but the day after he was right back to himself.

| Meloxicam (Metacam) - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company! Give the Metacam on a full stomach if you think that is the problem. A liver enzyme check should be considered if there are reactions to any NSAID but in this case it might be that the anesthesia is causing the stomach upset (very common).
