| Heat Cycle Hi everyone. My name is Kim and I am new to the board. I have a yorkie named Sassy and she is in heat right now. I have another male dog and we have kept them seperated. It has been about 3 weeks and I noticed that her teats (nipples) have swollen. Is this normal while in heat. Thanks for any help. Kim |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! My Sydney just came out of her heat cycle. I too have noticed her teats are larger than normal. (I bred her tho) Not an expert here so maybe someone will give you the answer you need.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie went into heat about 25 days ago and her nipples are still hard but nit quite as hard as they were, but every time I pick her up I can feel them. I hope they go down soon.

| My Meeka is 10 months old and she hasn't had her 1st heat cycle yet. How old are all of your yorkies? I am worried that she is late in coming into heat. |

| Mine is in the same boat I am so glad to find this thread. I put off having my little CC spayed--I just forget with how little she is (6 lbs-small to me) but I noticed the other day that she is in her first heat cycle--I'm assuming it just started--I've never done this before and she will be 1 on the 26th. My male is neutered but he is sure interested in her more since this has transpired--I don't know a whole lot about this! |

| Yes it is normal, she may even gain a little weight if this is her first heat cycle. She should go back to normal in a few weeks.
