| Pet Insurance? Hi everyone - I'm curious if any of you have or have had pet insurance. I'm thinking of looking into it before I get my puppy. Any thoughts on Pet Insurance, good or bad would be really appreciated! Thanks!

| i dont have pet insurance....... but........ when you think about it, it is kind of similar to people insurance.... it is much better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it........ My golden retriever NEVER went to the vet except for spaying ......... my cairn terrier before her never went to the vet at all........ and toby has only gone for shots and neutering next month...... i guess it depends on what kind of lifestyle you have too, accidents are bound to happen of course, but i am very careful with my babies and so far i have had NO costly accidents in the 12 years that i have had my own animals......... (ive had my own animals since i was 10)..... so now the question remains, do YOU think you need pet insurance?..... |

| Orinskye is right....pet insurance is a very nice thing to have...but it is not worth for some people...for sure it depends on your lifestyle. I am seriously thinking about getting it for Mojo...since i would go bananas if any accident happened to him, i would spend whatever it would take to treat him...so i know it will definetly be worth for me. But each case is different, i am not criticizing or anything, but some people would rather have their pets euthanized than spending a lot of money caring for it...so in this case, health insurance it is not a necessity. Most important than anything is to care and love for our little yorkies...and keep them happy, at the end that is what matters. |

| Hi, I have pet insurance. I weighed up the pros and cons, and decided that i wanted it. You never know when there is going to be an accident, and if baby goes down with some disease, then at least you dont have to worry about finding money you havent got. With my insurance, i can get (remember im in the UK!) £7,500 of vets fees per year. So if (god forbid) mitzy is diagnosed with anything, she will be covered. All i would say is look into what they pay per year, not life! Some companies here will only pay up to £7,500 per disease/accident per lifetime, whereas i have got it per year, as long as i keep up payments. Hope this helps Tina xx |

| Thanks everyone - Sandy came to us with pre-existing health conditions, so we've paid a lot for vet visits. I don't mind and would trade any amount of money for my baby's health. I just was looking in one of my pet magazines and saw something about it - so thought I'd ask Thanks again for everyone's imput!

| Yes, I was going to say 'read the fine print' because different companies pay different things for different diagnosis and some won't pay anything for certain illnesses.. |

| I have had my puppy Nina for less than a week. I would consider getting her insurance because I couldn't stand seeing her sick and going untreated. Can anyone suggest an insurance company they trust? |
