				   | One (or both) of my dogs have had a little diarrhea that started yesterday AM and then another bout this AM. Today I took them on a walk, and they both pooped-large amount of poop for each of them, a little looser than normal but not diarrhea, however, both of them had mucus in their stools. They are eating, drinking, and acting normally, and I haven't changed their diet at all. What could this be? Do they need to go to the vet, or is it just a tummy bug that will pass on its own?

				   | Well I hate to always scream Giardia every time someone mentions weirdness in the stool but it certainly could be. Have you thought about testing for that? Ralphie had those symptoms and he just now got over his 4 month bout with Giardia. I hope you find the answers that you need |

				   | Hey Suzy, sorry just seeing this now. Sometimes Layla has slimy poops. But i wouldn't worry about it until it happens for like 3-4 days in a row. If all else is normal could just be off a little. it happens to people too Hugs to Milli and Emma! |

				   | Thanks everyone-I'll wait and see how they do in the AM, and then take them to the vet if they have more. Patti-could definitely be stress/heat/barometer related-I never thought of that-Thanks!. Marci-Thanks, I'll stop freaking for just one incident. It's probably just them recovering from the diarrhea yesterday.

It could just be stress or because it's both of them, maybe something they ate. BTW, Giardia is really hard to detect and it could take several samples to show up in a test.Good luck and good job checking out the poop - It sounds gross but I think it's so important to check it out to make sure the babies are healthy!!

				   | Thanks everyone-I think it was the heat, or maybe just a tummy upset. They are both pooping normally now, LOL!
