| It effects people that way, why not dogs? Some people have given a small amount of canned plain pumpkin to their puppies. It should help with his constipation.

| One of the side effects of pain medication is constipation. Tell your vet what is happening and he should recommend something to remedy this, do not give anything without consulting first since it might be contraindicated with the pain medication. Better to be on the safe side. Hope your pet gets well soon.

| I think it does, Missy was on pain meds once before and didn't poop for 4 days! I was really worried so the vet told me to stop the meds, feed her a good meal and she will be fine. He was right, after about 8 hours of no meds and a good meal she was all better. How many more days do you plan to give her the pain meds? Max had his teeth pulled last month and I gave him the meds that night and the next morning then that was it.
