OK so i got bailey to eat some treats. i just wanted to get something in his tummy. he ate them but then an hour later he vomited them up. i rushed to the vets office and he checked out fine but then we did an x-ray. turns out he ate 2 rocks! they are tiny rocks but they are still stuck in him. he also said his stomach looked full and his intestines were full of gas. it is so weird because he has not eaten yet today except for the treats which he vomited up. i am dieing here! i just pray that it all passes soon and he comes back to normal. the vet gave him a cat laxitive and an anti vomiting shot and then an antibiotic for the gas. if all that fails then we will have to go for another treatment with lots of x-rays and possibly surgery to get the rocks out and whatever else is in there with them. so no more walks for bailey until he is bigger. i swear i am so cautious when we are out. the 2nd i see him sniffing or chewing i am on him like white on rice trying to get whatever it is out of his mouth. i guess i just wasnt quick enough. but he also could of got into something at home. how to we yorkie proof our homes without putting them in a cage? (i would never put him in a cage) ~stressed out mother (i am never having kids)

That is awful, I hope he passes the rocks soon.I remember an er vets show where they brought a dog in that always ate rocks. He passed most of them but as he grew the rocks he ate got bigger. he finally ended up having surgery to get some BOULDERS out!! That dog had an odd appetite.

Good luck with Bailey I hope he passes those rocks soon and is back to eating as usual. Keep us posted on his recovery status... I too watched where a dog was always eating stuff.. On Animal Planet they brought a doberman ( I think ) into the vets thinking he had eaten something again cause he was not acting right.. they did an xray and he had swallowed a knife.. one of those really long ones like a bread knife but was for meat. Fortunately he did not damage which was amazing. They got it out of him and he was fine =)

Update on Bailey (a.k.a rocky the rock eater) We pooped! he hadened done that since Thursday of this week. So the vet gave him the laxitive and the anti vomiting shot. we also gave him an antibiotic for the gas to prevent bacteria. i found that chicken falvored baby food was bailey's favorite thing in the world and also baby carrots. yeah! we got him to eat! are you ready for the gross part? my vet told me that he wanted me to go threw the stool to se what was in there. or that i could bring it to him and he would look threw it for me. Eww so after breakfast, we were playing in the living room and he snuck off to the hall way and did his business. i didnt care if it wasnt on his diaper, WE WERE PASSING ROCKS! i looked at the pile wondering if i could stomach going through it. i stuck it in a zip lock bag and began to squish it around. (my boyfriend now thinks i am the grossest person alive, i actually brought it to him in bed screaming 'look at this!') you will not believe what i found!!! first, the rock, and it was kinda big for a yorke i thought. there was a large section that wouldnt break down so i figured that was carpet. there was a lot of carpet in there! next was a CARPET STAPLE!!! i almost died right there.A STAPLE was in MY BABY! it could of killed him!! then there was something that looked like tinfoil but i dont know where he got that from and then carrots so i know that he may be cleaned out since i gave him the carrots last night. i think we are on the right track now. i am limiting his walks and i may still keep my vet apt. today just so i can show him what i found (since my boyfriend wasnt too in to it ) i thought i puppy proofed my house good and i watch him like a hawk when he is playing. this is a huge learning experience for me. i am taping all carpeted areas with tape and i am putting a lenolium pad under his pen. no more carpet or rocks for him. sorry this is so long but i figured you would want the details even if they were pretty nasty. the things we do for our babies. i pray that none of you have to go threw this and i pray i do not end up in the emergency room doing surgery.
