| I need a good food for bad skin allergies! I need a good food for my Me-Me's bad skin allergies! We have gone the way of allergy shots and food from the vet, and tons of pills! No more torture for this tiny baby! Put her on fish oil. Anyone try any good foods that can help her skin? Immune boosting would be great too, since she was born with PDA that cleared up at 1 1/2 years old. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

| I wish I had the answers for you and me too - as Roxy has bad allergies. I am keeping her scratching down a little by giving 1/2 childrens benedryl. I hate to give it to her, but if I don't, her skin gets raw |

| I have found that putting little pajamas on Me-Me helps her and lets her skin itch. The vet put her on an antidepressant that makes her nasty at times. The other night she was sleeping next to Cupie and decided to jump on top of her like a flying squirrel. It looked funny, but Cupie was so annoyed. I am going to wean her off of them. It's good to know that I'm not in this boat alone.

Have you tried the drug that helps the itchies if it is caused by the liver?

| The Life's Abundance is great for those with allergies since it has no corn, wheat or soy. It is all healthy ingredients too. There is a skin and coat supplement that is fabulous for allergies and the itchy skin. It has the Omega-3 Fatty Acids/fish oil in it. If you want to try a sample of the dog food, just PM me. Check the ingredients on the food that you are feeding now. The fish oil should help but probably cannot counter act the dog food if it has the corn or wheat in there. You will want to use a good shampoo too. The Spa Scents Pet Shampoo is wonderful for yorkie hair since it doesn't strip out the essential oils that are needed to keep their hair silky and their skin soft. If you use a harsh shampoo, that can dry out their skin too much and cause itching. Hope that helps. |

| I would highly recommend raw without any grains. There are several brands out there and lots of supporting documentation regarding allergies. We use The Honest Kitchen (freeze-dried raw) and love it.

I agree. My best friend has a pug w/the worst allergies - she switched her over to raw and Noelle know longer scratches herself until she bleeds and she does not need her allergy shots anymore either!!! Good luck I hope you find something that will do the trick!

| Raw Reccomendations I use raw for allergic pets - specifically Primal brand, because the protein sources are antibiotic and hormone free and the produce used is organic. This is great for fur-kids with allergies. I especially like the Pheasant formula. Also a great immune booster is VetriScience DMG. I use it - and the benefits have been amazing. When we rescued Ella Bean, we nearly lost her b/c of all the neglect she suffered and I credit much of her current vitality to the raw diet and DMG. Hope that helps!

| My Alyssa has had all kinds of skin allergies and itchings. I switched from Royal Canin Yorkshire Food to Canidae. I liked it a lot and the itching stopped. I then switched to Life's Abundance. It is great. To me either Canidae or Life's Abundance is the way to go. All of my dog's have been on Life's Abundance for about a year and are doing great.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'd recommend raw more than anything - are you willing to do that? There are several good brands out there. Grain free would be key if you're staying non-raw.

| I love Life's Abundance if I am not using raw for an allergic pet. I actually use those kibbles as treats! - But I have to say, I agree with Wylie's Mom! Raw is the best way to go for allergies! Let us know what you decide!
