| Vaccines that can harm your pet??? All, please, please, please do some checking on the Lepto shot!!! My sister (vet tech) was at the vet convention in Maryland and they had a huge training class on this. Many vets have stopped the Lepto shot in small dog breeds due to an adverse reaction causing sickness and sometimes fatal consequences with this shot. The shot is not necessary although helpful but why risk your pet for a shot that is not needed. Only in certain parts of the country would it be necessary to have a lepto shot. This shot is usually administered when you have the rabbies vaccine done. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING ARTICLES IF YOUR VET WILL BE ADMINISTERING THIS SHOT!!!!!! Anaphylactic Reaction Is the Lepto shot safe for mini daschunds? - Yahoo!Xtra Answers http://www.leerburg.com/pdf/vaccinosis.pdf Re:lapto vaccine Danger of Pet Vaccination - Vaccinosis - adverse reaction to routine vaccination Regarding Vaccinations Ask the vet what shots he is giving and YOU make the choice. It's your pet and you have the right to know. Why risk their life for something that isn't needed. |

| My vet said she doesn't give the Lepto shot any more because of the dangers. I'm thankful because I didn't know anything about it until I joined YT.

| I've heard lepto vaccines can be harmful to Yorkies, but in what ways? Are there long term consequences? I'm trying to deal with a probable shunt puppy that has elevated platelets (402), indicating something going on with immune system. Shwe received lepto shots at 4 & 5 mos. |

| My Mom's Chi, Chili nearly died from the Lepto shot about a month ago. The vet is absolutely furious! He said that every dog he's given it to has had an adverse reaction. Well, like I said, Chili nearly died, he was limp and started throwing up blood! I can guarantee you that Scooter won't be getting it this year when his shots are due! |
