				   | ok, i've read that yorkies shouldn't chew rawhide treats, so i was avoiding them. well remy was playing with his little papillon friend down the street yesterday and got a hold of one of her rawhide 'Dingo' bones and literally gobbled it up. He is fine but he really seemed to like it--which is odd because he never eats any of the other treats I give him. He always hides them under furniture or between couch cushions-haha ![]() so, what is the deal with rawhides? are they bad for dogs are am I being psycho and overprotective. do any of your babies get rawhide treats??

				   | any pet store. i order online at e-petsboutique.com. i order in bulk though... i must warn you, they smell, but who cares as long as it keeps my lexi busy, im ok with it... just type in bully sticks and you can see what they look like... i get the 12 inch ones and then i throw them out when they get to be around 4 inches long.. |

				   | My dogs have always gotten raw hides even when I was growing up our dogs always had raw hides. That being said I must also say that dogs should be watched with them. I let my little guys chew the raw hide peices and bones but take them away after they get them down to a size they could choke on. I never let them have them when I am not going to be home. My 90lb lab gets them too but big ones he eats the whole thing. He is 9yrs old and has really nice teeth. no yucky build up, his gums are really good, and I have never brushed his teeth or taken him to the vet for a cleaning. If your dog has had any digestive problems I wouldn't give them raw hides though. |

				   | I give mine Merrick flossies. They are like like bully sticks but spiral shape. If you get the Merrick brand they wont have any odor at all and wont make their breath smelly. I get mine at PetSupermarket and I think PetCo also has them.
