I frequently have given one of my dogs venison just for an upset stomach. If you don't know already, venison has no fat or next to none. It's very lean and very easy on their stomachs. You live in Tx, so venison is probably very easy to come by. See if you know someone who hunts deer or put and add in your local newspaper. I may be able to send you a few pounds, but I need to find out where I can get dry ice to send it. Hope that was helpful.

would i just give it raw?

I don't know about raw, but you could boil in water, and separate into small portion and freeze in small rubbermaid containers and get them out as you need them.
