I Need Help!!! PLEASE .... allergies(yorkies) Kiele is eating LA. She started nawing her legs so bad that she has no hair on then literally they look like chicken legs. I took her to the vet they gave her a medicated rinse and some fish oil vitamins for dogs. She said i might have to change her food to something without chicken, beef, wheat, corn ect,. she told us to use something with kangaroo, rabbit, venisen and so on. my mom was the one who took her to this appointment lol well i have been using both but i have not switched her food. I wanted to make that the last resort. It has gotten way worse. I came home today to find scabs on her legs and on her underarms and her stomach has a rash. I have been rubbing mineral oil on her and everything. So now it resorting to food switching. What meats would be with the beef chicken category? do you think duck or lamb would be okay? Homecooking is just not an option sorry. I am considering raw but im kinda scared and its super expensive paying for shipping online for raw food. Can someone please help me!!!!!!!!! (also what are some good skin items?) |

do yall think if i used this and then meaty bones then that might help? Grain Free Dog Food, Homemade Dog Food – The Honest Kitchen |
I have also heard good things about natural ballance i think it is sweet potato and fish |
I would definately switch her to a grain free and a vennison, duck or fish as the meat. Poor baby must feel so bad. Maybe the vet can give you some meds to help until you get her skin under control. |

do you think turkey would be okay? |
I have a cat with terrible food allergies, and she is finally doing so well since I switched her to Nature's Variety raw rabbit medallions. Yes, it is expensive but it is definitely worth it to me because her hair has grown back, she's healthy, and she's not scratching herself to bleed anymore. There are grain-free kibbles and canned food you can try such as Nature's Variety Instinct...most exotic protein sources are going to be expensive though. The raw rabbit costs me about $35 a month for my cat (she gets 3 medallions per day) |

Its the extra 20 dollars shipping for raw food. If thats all you pay i know you get yours from a local store right? i dont have a local store. I would need enough for 2 dogs. |

yeah the closest store is about 1 1/2 hours maybe a hour. but with gas prices its too far to drive. i have been looking at the honest kitchen skoshi didnt like it he loved it the first time but didnt like it any other time. but I havent tried it on kiele or cago. the only thing is that HK only has turkey or chicken i think thats why i was asking if turkey would be okay? should i do a hard switch with this or slow? |
I don't know about turkey, I switched Cali to lamb but it didn't do much for her scratching. She is currently on a low steroid/antibiotic to clear up her dermatitis and then they ordered some non steroid medicine Atopica I read about on YT to see if that helps. It is 2.00 a pill but I am desperate to stop her scratching. Hopefully Kielie will improve with a diet switch. |
it says 35% low carb is that okay??? also 29 % protein? |
Has she been eating that food for a while and it just started? If so, maybe it isn't food allergy...maybe it is a pollen or grass allergy? Just a thought... |
