| I'm in search for a new vet, again I just called the vet to reschedule the puppies appts, and asked what each are coming in for, she said Augie is coming in for DPV & lepto. Abby is due for DPV, lepto & Rabies. I'm peeved for a few reasons. 1. These 2 are siblings, same litter, why is 1 ready for Rabies but not the other? 2. Augie has already had 3 sets of DPV, why does he need another one, she said they get the DPV until they are 4mos or until their adult teeth are in. What??? what does teeth have to do with DPV? 3. I told her we changed our mind about the lepto, she used the scare tactics again, you know that that disease can spread from dog to human, they really need it. Bullcrap. 4. I told her we are going to wait on the rabies till they are 6mos old, she said "you can't put that one off", I asked why? she said, the city comes door to door looking for rabies paperwork, really? I've had Zeus for 5 years, the only time anyone asks for rabies paperwork is when i get his license from the city. and my mother had Buttons for 20 years, no one came door to door. Needless to say, I was miffed. So now I'm on the hunt for a new vet. Anyone have any recommendations for the WNY area? around Buffalo and southtowns?

| I'm not in your area, but I would recommend finding a acupuncture and/or holistic vet who would most definitely take a different route with vaccines. Although my acupuncture/holistic vet does like to see my dogs twice a yr, not just once a yr Here's some links to help you in a search I.V.A.S - The International Veterinary Acupuncture Society American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture » AAVA Directory AHVMA - Home

| Hmmm good question - I really don't know, but I would think if they are willing to consider alternative forms of medicine they would be open to both. My vet was a traditional vet probably at least in his late 40s or older when he got into the alternative medicine, so he just seems so well versed to handle any situation, and will at times take the traditional route if he believes it is best. I would assume that most vets have to finish a more traditional program first then pick up, the alternative medicine paths. I would be sure to ask a lot of questions if you call around. I don't believe that all holistic vets are acupuncture vets (the reverse of what you asked)
