| WoW!! I wonder why I never received a notice from Itchmo - they normally send out mass emails, if you are a subsriber - I relied on them last year for all updates concerning tainted food. Thank you so much for posting this! I had no idea about Evangers; Mango had been on this until about a month ago, when I switched her to NV, (off that now too). I had then switched her to raw. She had a bad episode with cotintuous vomiting a little while back, now I am wondering if there is a connection. ![]() I hope this thread keeps being bumped. So many Yorkies here are on Evanger's. Lauren

| I Just did a search on Itchmo.com and Evanger's has not been recalled as yet. I then checked on their website and found their press release: Evanger's Dog and Cat Food Company

I'd hate to see Baby's favorite food be recalled. I'll keep an eye on the website.

| OMG!! I just went to the dog's supply closet and found several cans of the Evanger's Cooked Chicken. This was the last canned food I had bought to coat Mango's kibble with!!! Her vomiting was SO bad!!! She had her food mixed this way for every single meal for months!! Oh no! Please tell me I have not harmed my precious girl with this!! Anne, if you read this, do you think I should contact Susan Davis about this??? Lauren ![]() ![]()

It may be the kibble, try feeding her just the kibble and if she is still vomiting, I would contact Evanger's, do not throw away that last cans of chicken, they may need it to test it, but right now they are saying their canned food is safe. Sheila

| this is very confusing - I feed my Siamese Artemis dry food - but on the Artemis website, they make no mention of any kind of recall or concern for any food right now. My kitty is totally out of food -- I know I'm a bad mom - was going to get it yesterday & came home last night & had totally forgot - she ate the dog's Innova last night -- but I have got to get her some food today, and now I am hesitant now to buy the Artemis - should I be??

| The Evangers food is safe. It's a paperwork issue. I have heard from multiple people who have contacted them directly and there is no danger with the food. If you read the FDA press release carefully, that is all it says, that they need to obtain a certain permit. They probably do this kind of thing all the time but everyone is on edge with the food recalls AND because of Rachael Ray, everyone knows the name Evangers now. The food isn't being recalled. My dogs have vomited up Evangers before because I was an idiot and fed them 100% chicken when they are used to chicken+veggies or kibble. After I started feeding formulas that were pasta/veggie/rice/chicken, they were fine. Every dog is different. If you are concerned please contact the company directly and I'm sure they will be happy to explain it. Lauren I'm sure Mango is just fine!!

But this is why I am confused - because the original post says Artemis, but then I don't see anything else about that company

| Evangers cans foods for other brands. I think that is a very common practice. Smaller brands don't have the ability or need to open their own canning facility.

I am going back to home cooking, because I have had enough of these food recalls, and scares. My girls are just too important to be guinea pigs. My Great Grandmother, who passed away in her 80's, over 20 years ago, fed her little Chihuahua home cooked food and he lived a very, long, healthy life. I remember she walked to the butchers every morning and got his food. Sheila
