| Well, if they have elevated numbers, it definitely points to a liver problem, but you won't know if it's an extrahepatic liver shunt or if it's MVD (hepatic microvascular dysplasia). It's possible that it could be something else though. To find out if it's a liver shunt or MVD, a Protein C test would be in order.

| Some vets are not aware of the other testing! Perhaps talk to your vet about the other test or find a vet that is willing to do it. To do a biopsy on a dog that doesn't need one is not a good thing for the baby and could waste your money!

| We use eagle pack holistic select duckmeal and oatmeal. It's made in Indiana. I'm not sure it's the lowest of the low protein, maybe closer to the middle. It's also good for allergies. Good Luck~
