| Romeo had a baby turtle in his mouth! We just moved into a home on a lake. I've noticed little holes in the dirt. I realized today that they are from baby turtles.. after Romeo pulled one out of one of the holes. I pulled it out of his mouth and took the turtle to safety. (turtle survived) Is he in any health danger by having a turtle in his mouth?

| Hmmm, I don't know but they sure do like to put little things in their mouths don't they? Tink had a frog in her mouth last summer. Unfortunately I scared her trying to get it away from her and she squished it. Let's google it and see if we can find any info. |

| Turtles and frogs...don't have any idea if there is any health danger here. But how do they find these things...it must be the hunter in them, huh?

| Well, the only thing I find on google is the well-known danger from pet turtles of salmonella. But I doubt if you have to worry about that. I found more about turles being bitten by dogs! |

| I'm sure he'll be ok. A year or so ago, Max kept bringing little dead dried up turtles into the house from the back yard. Our neighbor had a female turtle and it came to our house to lay it's eggs I guess....anyhow, it was too hot for the little guys to survive for long (they were red eared sliders..aquatics), I just took them out of his mouth and put them in the garbage. He brought one in toward the end of us living there and it was still alive, so I got an aquarium and set him up in it....the next day, I found another one in the pool, so I had 2. They were really fun, but they outgrew their aquarium and I decided instead of buying a bigger one, I'd donate them to my neighbor's pond in her back yard, LOL, so that's where they are. Anyway, Max never got sick from carrying them around. I do know that they carry bacteria, so I wouldn't let him play with them voluntarily
