| At a loss! Hey all! Got a problem. My 9 year old has come down with some unusual symptoms. About 1 month ago I switched him over to California Rice and Lamb, cuz I have to keep him on low protein and low fat due to pancreatitis problems. About a week later he started out with a really rough dry nose and then his nasal passages (when you look directly into at his nose) look to be narrowed and then every other day I have to wash his nose (carefully!) to get this white stuff of his nose. He has no nasal discharge, but it looks like dried white stuff around the sides of the nostrils. This has irritated(?) his trachea, he has had some problems with his trachea when I walk him, since switched over to a halter collar. His breath really stinks now too! Now he is panting some, we are not having hot weather so that's not it. Took him to the vet and he have him some amoxicillian, but not much change in his overall symptoms. Now he really snores! Any thoughts out there? He was on Canidae (senior), but to many proteins going on there for his tummy, so I thought I would switch. I always thought Lamb and rice would be allergy free. If this is an allergy thing. Any help would be appreciated. Lana, Buster and Sissy |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | It might be an allergy thing. Do they have another flavor you can try? I feed California Natural to my 3 and no problems for any of them. But my male does sometimes have stuff on his nostrils that i have to take off I always thought it was boogies

| It never ceases to amaze me how some Vets. give medication without even knowing what the problem is. Seems like most of them think the almighty "cillins" are a all cure-alls. I'm sure if you put your dog on "real" food, his health will eventually get back to normal. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My 3 are on the California Natural LAmb and Rice wet and dry. I switched because Cali has allergies and after testing and not finding out what she is allergic to the vet said to switch her to a food with one novel protein and one carbohydrate so I switched to CN. Cali still scratches but they all seem to be able to tolerate it with no problems.

| Since it started a week after you introduced new food, maybe there is something in it he is allergic to.
