| Lil Mr. Cone Head My Lil Guy came home from the vet yesterday with a large incision in his abdomen from the neuter and a cone on his head. I posted a thread and I learned that a baby's onesie could be used to keep the puppy away from the incision if the cone drove him nuts....which it did. So I put the onesie on him tonight and popped the cone off. Boy did he go to town....scratching his ears, face, chewing his paws, rubbing on the blanket, grunting like it never felt so good. I'm just worried that at night he may chew at the incision through the onesie.... Has anyone else had that happen? I don't want to set him back even further after his surgery. The vet said it needed to stay on for 2 weeks. Yikes!!! Any Advise and/or Suggestions would be very much appreciated.

| My little guy came home from the snip-snip and started to bang the cone against the wall! He looked so pitiful that we took it off him right away and he was fine with the incision. I put neosporin on it, so maybe that didn't taste too good and he left it alone. His incision was fairly small though, you said you had a large incision for a neuter? Problems? Hope he does well and is all back to new in no time!

| Maybe leave it on untill the incision heals upjust to be sure! Banjo wore one for- 3 wks- but it didn't seem to bother him I'd rather be safe than sorry! It only takes a sec for them to pull stitches- that's what they told me

| Aww, I'm sorry your little one is having such a hard time. Remi was neutered recently, but his vet used glue - no stitches. My vet doesn't believe in cones for small dogs. When Roxy was spayed, he used wires(like twist ties) for stitches so she wouldn't bother them. Looked ugly, but worked like a charm. Altho he seemed to LOVE the taste of the glue , he healed quickly and all is well. Hang in there, your sweetie will be healed in no time.
