| ![]() Hi everyone, I am wondering about my Yorkie's baby teeth. He is almost 9 months old and still has double bottom canines. They have been like this for a couple months. By what age should these fall out, and if they dont then what age should they be removed? Thank you! Jen |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() Yorkies don't always lose their teeth on their own. If you don't remove the milk teeth, it can cause permanent teeth to grow in improperly and become decayed because food gets trapped in the two rows of teeth. This can lead to serious infection. Most people have the teeth removed when their dog is neutered, usually around 6 months because this is usally done under antithesis.

| ![]() Roxi had to have 15 teeth removed! she only lost like 4 baby teeth.. So she basically had two complete sets... And I had her baby teeth pulled at the same time as the neutering.... she was 71/2 months at the time of the surgery... And welcome to YT!!

| ![]() My furbaby has lost about 5 with the adult teeth coming in strong. Did they remove the molars also? I have been thinking about going to the vet to have the fix and teeth done at the same time. Should I wait until more adult teeth have come in before I have them removed? Aside from chewing a bit more, they do not seem to bother him much. |

| ![]() My Lula is getting spayed and teeth pulled as i type! ![]() She also has almost ALL of her baby teeth and her "fangs" as I call them are growing on top of each other and she has two rows of her incisors one in front of the other. The vet said that as she is under the hygenist will take out as many as possible (2-3 minutes per tooth) but they are not keeping her under any longer than they have to so she will most likely keep some baby teeth for now. If she doesnt lose them on her own will have to go under again. Any advice on toys or treats that may help her chew more and lose them?? |

| ![]() My Jamie just had 10 teeth pulled and was neutered on Wednesday. He chewed and tugged on every toy and treat known to man to help him lose them on his own and they just weren't coming out so they pulled them while he was already under anesthesia for his neuter.

| ![]() I wouldn't wait any longer. The longer they're in there the more chance of decay. |
