| ![]() Oh Lauren I was feeling better but I'm such a worry wart. Jamie is still whimpering and can't get comfortable today. He still hasn't had a bowel movement even though I keep taking him out. My roommate says she thinks he is whimpering because he thinks that I will take the onsie off so he can lick. But I'm worried because when I feed him it seems like he just can't get enough and I don't want to feed him too much and make him sick. I just don't know what to do. And I'm still tired because everytime he moved at all last night I woke up. I hate to call my vet about it because he thinks that I spoil Jamie (and I do). Even yesterday before I took Jamie home the vet said that knowing Jamie he would probably use it to get sympathy for a week or so. I guess the difference between me and the vet is that I am Jamie's mommy and I can't tell when he's overacting or when he really needs something. I wish he could talk... ![]()

I'm sure he'd be way more comfortable that way. Whimpering is a sign of pain. Did the vet give you pain meds? I know sometimes they don't for neutering but if the dog's body can handle the meds, there is no reason not to give them. Sometimes it takes a couple days after surgery to have a bowel movement. I wouldn't be worried about that right now (well, okay if it was Ellie I would be worried but it is okay ![]() Probably about 24 hours after surgery, I just let Ellie eat as much as she wanted because she didn't appear nauseous.

| ![]() Thanks for responding! He is already in a onsie because I didn't want to do the ecollar. While he was with my roommate last night while I was in the shower, she said "he didn't make a peep and was walking all over the couch." When I have him he just lays and whimpers and stands in one place with his head down. He won't even follow me into the kitchen without me picking him up and carrying him. He is getting pain meds (1/4 tablet of Rimadyl every 12-24 hours). Even more confusing, when I left him to come back to work today he was whimpering and kept moving around in his crate. I get back to work and pull up the pet cam and he is stretched out and asleep already.

| ![]() I fear that maybe my roommate and vet are right and that he just acts like that with me since he knows I'm a sucker. Yesterday afternoon he was laying in my lap and whimpering so I took the onsie off as long as he was in my lap but when I put him in the stroller so I could run to the bathroom and start supper, I put it back on him and he started up again. He's great with shirts but doesn't like pjs or anything that make his back half feel restrained.

| ![]() I'm sure he's in good hands, and I certainly hope that they can do it this time. My little one is only 3 1/2 months old. He is already marking, and thinks he's reproducing with a stuffed animal. I am very anxious to have him nutered. Based on his behavior, I'm thinking he needs to be neutered early. How do you know when to have him neutered. My vet told me 7 or 8 months. ![]() |

![]() Some vets want to wait til after a year but most seem to think it is good to neuter between 4 and 6 months (usually about 6) if the dog is over two pounds.

| ![]() Hey Misty, Sorry I missed this. How is little Jamie doing tonight? With Mango, I have been alternating between the ecollar and the onesie. She sleeps in the latter at night, because I think the collar would be really uncomfortable for her. The main thing is to keep them from irritating the incision. Mango simply hates clothes, so I hope you have better luck with Jamie. About the constipation. My Vet told me to mix a half teaspoon of any vegetable oil with her food. I have been afraid to try this because of her vomiting, but if Jamie has not been throwing up, I would give it a try. It has SO worked before when Mango has been constipated. Is he still wanting to drape himself around his Mama's neck.... I can just see that cute "Yorkie Collar" ![]() Hope tomorrow is better for him, and the next day even better so. Big hugs for the night, ![]() Lauren

| ![]() Lauren you are the BEST! Thank you for checking on us. Mr. Jamie and I had a great nights sleep (we both woke up in the same position we fell asleep in and he didn't move all night) And since I know he's feeling better it is easier for me not to feel guilty for getting on to him for biting. Once he realized I was no funny business mom again he has been such a sweet boy. How is Mango feeling today?

![]() With Jamie biting, I wonder if it was because he was in pain? Otherwise, you definitely need to reclaim your alpha position...(I prefer to call it GirlPower). Mango and I had the best day. I took her out for the first time since her spay, and we went to visit her most favorite Yorkie girlfriends that live up the road from us. She zoomed around with them for about two hours, then I brought her home.Just the cutest, most adorable thing to watch. It was like watching 3 demented little bunnies; just cracks me up.She is now snoozing on Mama's lap as we speak. Hugs, Lauren ![]()

| ![]() LOL! Usually I only sleep in the same position all night if I am just totally worn out. And I do think that perhaps he was in a little pain and thats why he was edgy. Once I gave him some of the pain medication, he was much calmer. I am so glad that Miss Mango had a great outing today. It seems that we have 2 happy endings!
