anybody know about the drug atopica

Is it something you give during the allergy season (say if they are allergic to pollen) or do you have to give all year round??

Turbo's allergies are not seasonal and I have to give the meds year round. I guess it depends on the severity of the allergy and what they are allergic to.

Year round here too. Am trying to go every other day now seems to be working fine, though I suspect the season coming up will be an everyday event.

I have one with a grass allergy. Now that we are starting to green up a litte...i see more face rubbing.

I'll have to ask our vet about it this week.

How long have you been using it daily?

Charlie has been on the medication daily since he was put on it, almost 1 and a half years now.
We tried once before to go to every other day and it didn' work but we seem to be doing ok this time round.
Hopefully in the off season we will be able to go to every other day, I truly doubt that during the spring to fall we will be able to, but one never knows, this medication does accumulate in the system, so maybe.
One can only hope.

I am taking Cali to my vet this week and I am going to ask if we can try her on this. Nothing else has worked. She has a mild liver condition, MVD does anyone know if this is ok for that. I will of course ask the vet. How much does a month's supply cost?Thanks

I was buying from my vet at 32.00 per month but found another vet I can take the script to for 20.00 per month. Shop around it pays.
I don't know about the liver condition with this med.

Best of luck with taking Cali in, don't give up, this problem of allergies can be frustrating, but there is hope.

Thanks I just got back and posted a thread about it. That isn't bad. I thought she was talking like hundreds of dollars. Although she said she only has one dog in the practice on it and it is a 100 lb lab so that would be expensive. I am so hoping it works for Cali.
