| Should I be worried? Sammy has LP surgery tomorrow and the vet never called to confirm. I tried calling the other day to confirm they got her bloodwork from our regular vet and they weren't open yet and I got busy at work and forgot to call again. My husband said they didn't call today and by the time I got home they were closed. This isn't our regular vet we have only been there once before so I don't even know if they normally call, but you'd think they would call and remind us she can't have any food tonight or water in the morning? This place is an hour away and I have to get her there by 8:30 and they don't answer their phones until 9! Our vet ALWAYS calls to confirm. Maybe they don't? I last spoke to them about 3 weeks ago. I'm concerned but my husband says to stop worrying...

| When Cocoa had her LP surgery the doc never called to confirm. They had given all the instructions earlier and I was expected to show up. Hope that is the way your doc operates or tomorrow may be a blow, aye?

| OK well I guess we are just spoiled by our regular vet. They always call for everything. The instructions are easy - no food tonight, no water tomorrow. I'm also assuming if they did NOT have her scheduled they would have called and said "Hey why did we get her bloodwork?" right? I know my vet sent it - my vet (not the tech) personally called me to say everything was OK and that she was faxing it. I love my vet

| I am sorry you are worried.. I would be worried just having surgery.. I always have my vets call for reminders.. but since it is not your regular vet, it is probably not as personal to them, although to me they should think of you and not themselves.. good luck tomorrow. |

| OK we dropped her off... the specialist is really nice and this is all she does every day so I feel confident about the actual surgery but we dropped her off with her blanket and her oscar (toy) and the receptionist just rolled her eyes at me. I explained that it's the only toy she plays with so if they play with her... she interrupted me and said "we won't play with her" UGH. Her surgery isn't until like 1:00 and they wanted her at 8:30 so I hope the little princess is barking at them like she does at me when I don't pay attention to her! I just keep telling myself this vet is the best at this. It's so hard. My vet specifically assigned someone to cuddle with Sammy before and after her spay. Yes I know they were half kidding but I have seen them really pamper the dogs in their care. I so wish my vet could have done this... I'll post a new thread with an update when they call this afternoon. We pick her up at 10:00 tomorrow and we are supposed to be getting a snow storm tomorrow!?

| My regular vet always calls to confirm but when Lily had her LP surgery at MSU they did not call.l I assume it is because they are so large and so busy, I will be praying all goes well.

| We got her back! They let us pick her up last night. She has pink bandages! It's really hard for her to walk. We only got her to pee once last night and I've been trying this morning with no luck. She is just sitting here whining. My husband was up with her all night and now it's my turn. I feel so bad! We took some pictures and I will post that later.

| Erin, I was away yesterday, missed your thread. I'm sorry the receptionist was such a *itch. Not the type that should work for a Vet. But, I am so glad Sammy's home, and I hope she'll feel better very quickly. Sheila |

| I just made an appointment for my little yorkie for LP surgery. They also think he might have a torn ACL. Poor baby, they said he will have to stay in the hospital for 3 to 5 days after his surgery. This is going to be so hard for me and Dylan. His surgery isn't scheduled until April 9th. I'm anxious to see pictures of your little baby after surgery. Did she have both legs done? |
