| Also make sure the person monitering her will not be the vet that's doing her surgery (yes, some vets do this to save money) The vet has enough to do without watching the moniters |

| I would never neuter my Rocky. If there is a chance I might loose my loved one, I am not doing it. And I would kill myself if something happened, just because I wanted to neuter him. |

| I was very nervous when Lucy got spayed since he bloodwork prior had come back abnormal, but after much thought and consideration and consultation wiht the vet who assured me she would be okay. I took the plunge and guess what she did wonderfully. But the vet did recommend that she not fast an enitre 12 hours prior to surgery and so she just fasted 8 hours, also, they injected her iv with gluclose during the surgery to make sure she didn't get a low blood sugar attack. As far as at home, I used onesies on my Lucy to prevent her from licking her stitches, it really helped, the vet said she'd never seen an incision heal so beautifully.

| I don't know how big your baby is, but when my Lucy was spayed she was to small for a onesie, too, so I cut an ankle sock into a kind of sweater. Here's a couple of pics. QUOTE=Rae Rae;1856119]Oh yeah I totally forgot, I have a couple diapers (Onseys are to big for her) from when she was in heat, I was going to ask the vet, but you guys could probably answer this, if I should put those on her to keep her from licking her stitches, or would that probably irritate it? Also, I requested the day she's spayed off work, well that day, not that night (if I have to I'd work like 4-9:30, that's when Leo will be home to watch her) then the whole next day off of work so I can be with her and watch her. I'm pretty sure she'll just be sleeping the whole time, but just to stay here and make sure she's comfortable.[/QUOTE] |

| I was on my way to school and the vet called, saying that she wasn't too happy with the results on the bloodwork done yesterday. Her kidney enzymes are a little low, and her glucose levers are kinda high. She wants me to bring in a urine sample ASAP, I would've today but they closed before I got home so I'm going to do that tomarow when I get off work. I really didn't get to ask a lot of questions because I was driving and knew I wouldn't remember half of it anyways, but tomarrow I definitly will ask all my questions. I didn't think something like this could happen. Bella always seems so healthy, so energetic and full of life. I'm hoping this is nothing serious and it can be corrected. I'm about to go do some research on this now, but if anyone has anything that can help me, or knows anything about this it'd mean a lot. Please keep her in your prayers. I was already worrying about her just going under, but now with this, I'm even more worried about her going under, and what if she's really sick. I've been fighting back tears all day whenever I start to think about it. I don't know how serious it is, and I watch her playing around right now and it breaks my heart that what if she is sick. Ok I have to stop now, I'm going to start bawling. I know YT are really strong, so please keep my little girl in your guys' prayers.

| Anyone have any ideas? I've been googling ever since I posted this (and browsing YT) and I can't find anything! Alls I'm finding is high gluclose levels is usually diabetes, I honestly don't think that's it though, because the vet said "kinda" high, unless she wanted to talk to me in person about how serious it is. I can't really find anything on low kidney enzymes though.

| I hope Bella is ok! I wish I could give you some advice, but I really don't know what any of that means. Please let us know when you find out. Hopefully it's very minor and she can go ahead and be spayed with no problems.

| What did the vet say when you talked further on this? Did they give you anymore info? Sorry I missed this earlier, I don't really have any help to give you, but once you know for sure what is going on, then the others will give you some help. |

| I hope your little girl is okay. Please if you need urgent advise on health issues you might want to start a new thread. There are many here that might help but they might not see this. |

| I'm still waiting for Bella to pee so I can get the sample, we have until 4:30...don't know if she'll go by then, any tips on making them pee? I tried looking online for any information, the only thing I really found was diabetes if glucose is high, but I don't think (and am praying) that's not it because she just said that they were "kind of" high, not really high and from what I read it's diabetes if it's really high.
