| Virbac C.E.T. AquaDent Just bought this to put in Marley's water, and I noticed that xylitol is the 3rd ingredient down. I thought that xylitol is toxic to dogs, so I'm wondering if this is ok to give her. I'm assuming it must be fine in small amounts or something since I bought it at the vet, but I thought I'd check with you guys.

| It is toxic to dogs. Now I have to go check Ellie's CET toothpaste and see if it is in there. Of course I just bought four tubes. I don't care what company says its safe. I will not give it. http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/xylitol.asp

| I'm too afraid to give this to her now...why couldn't I have checked the label before I opened the seal?!

| I'd take it/send it back. Show them the article from Snopes and tell them it is dangerous. They should return it even if it is open.

| How is it possible that a product is designed and manufactured for dogs, but it contains a substance which is highly toxic to dogs?

Xylitol is probably fine in the quantities used here, but I still would not trust it.
