Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | Wow what a scare... As many of you know I recently bought MeiLing home...and over the weekend I was so worried and scared because MeiLing was making these awfull honking sounds like she was gasping for air...especially when she gets excited or just got done running around the house. Then late Saturday night she was just laying there not wanted to do anything. I was so scared i got on google and started researching her symptoms...and the 2 main issues that came up on my search was: Tracheal Collapse - Respiratory Problem Reverse Sneezing (Pharyngeal gag reflex) One is more severe than the other...and being that out of all my dogs i have never had experience either one...i didn't know what to think...so being that it was 10 pm on Saturday...i had to rush her to the emergency vet because i didn't want to take any chances... I was so worried and scared...didn't know what to do...she was blowing out clear fluids out of her nose...and was kinda out of it... As I sat in the clinic waiting to be seen she seem to be getting worse...then the vet came in..checked her out...and what a relief...she only had a cold...and that is also something I didn't know dogs could get since I had never had that happen to anyone of my other dogs...i feel completely duh!!!...hehe... Now that i look back on it..she had all the same symptoms that us human have when we catch a cold...sneezing, gunk in our throat...and fever. so they injected something into her leg muscle which she didn't like very much...and she was mad at me since i was the one holding her while they did that to her...she let out a scream then turned and look me in the eye and scream again...then they sent me home with some type of medication that looks like the baby "bubble gum" flavor syrup that the doctor would have given my niece but whatever it is she should doesn't fight when it comes time to take it...hehe... Now she is back to her old active self...still has a little gunk in her throat...but then again we still have some of the medication left...so once that is gone she should be fully better....

| Thank you so much for sharing this information. Now we know that dogs can get 'colds'. I am glad to hear she is feeling better. |
