| New Yorkie Owner I have recently purchased a yorkie, age 5 months. I know this is going to sound stupid, but we have had him for 3 weeks and his nose is always dry. Is this normal in Yorkies? On average, how many times a day do they poo? Any pointers I can get will be greatly appreciated. |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk My Yorkie's nose used to always be dry but that was when she was on a not-so-good food. What are you feeding? On average they should poop 1-3 times a day.

| He is on Purina Puppy Chow. 1- 1 1/4 cup a day. I had been feeding him 3 times a day, but yesterday started 2 feedinds a day. Sometimes he poops up to 8 times a day. |

Eight times a day is WAY too many. There is a member here whose dog goes 6 times a day and is healthy but anything more than 3 times I would be concerned with. Has your vet said he is healthy?

| wow! 8 times a day. I get concerned if my dogs go 3 times a day. They normally go 1 no more than twice a day on average. I feed them Innova and also organic treats which I think helps. YOu may want to look into gradually changing his food..you will probably see a change. Is his stool hard or soft? You may also want to consult your vet. But welcome to YT..you are sure to learn lots here. Can't wait so see pics of your furbaby!
