| diarrhea I;ve had Leo now for almost two weeks.Im feeding him the Eukanuba small breed hard food and i mix in some science diet canned food. Each time he went to potty his stool looked fine.Since sunday he has been having runny diarrhea.I dont know if its the food or what. Im waiting until he is 16 weeks for his 1st vet visit and his next shots. He is 14weeks almost.Should i be worried about this? |

| I would be worried. If he was doing fine on the food before then it may not be that. The only advice I give when a pup has vomiting or diarrhwa and it isn't from their food is go to the vet as soon as possible.

| If hes had runny diahrea since Sunday he really needs to be seen by a vet. I wouldnt wait two weeks a little puppy can dehydrate fast. When Chachi was a young pup he had diahrea for 2 days and when I took him in they had to inject him with fluids because he was already dehydrating. they will give you meds to get rid of the diahrea also

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Well, yes, I'd be worried. The reason why is bc puppies w/ diarrhea can get into trouble FAST. And I do mean fast. So, there has been no firm poos since Sunday then? What is the diarrhea like? Is there blood? What is the color of his gums? If the gums are light, that means he is dehydrated (he probably is). If it were me, and it was day 3 of nothing but diarrhea - I would get him to the vet ASAP. It could be giardia or something that needs immediate attention. Once you get him better/figure out what's going on - I then would tackle getting him off Eukanuba and Science Diet (forever) - and getting him on a premium food. Did you start the SDiet recently? If so, I would discontine that right off the bat.

| I agree with the others. Get him to your vet asap. Diarrhea for several days can severely dehydrate an adult Yorkie, let alone a puppy. In a puppy his age you also have to worry about illness that can cause diarrhea like parvo and guardia. |
