Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | questions about tinies and shots Hi guys...my new puppy has had two shots, my breeder says for her tinies she prefers to space them out a month at least because they seem to take them harder. That makes sense to me, but at the same time I want her protected. For all of you that breed and have had tinies, could you give me your feelings on this? Thanks L |

| not a breeder but i have a little girl who might end up being a "tiny" ... she is almost 5 months and only 2lbs, 6 oz ... she has only gained about 7oz since i got her at the end of december... my vet INSISTS on spreading out her shots/vac...sometimes she only gets 1 shot at a time and sometimes 2 at a time (depending on the shot) and they are always 3-4 weeks apart ... my vet said she is way too small to give more than 1-2 at a time and she worries about any negative reactions ... she always makes sure she tells me to watch her like a hawk the day she gets her shots and to make sure i call or bring her in if she has any reactions ... not sure if this helps but hope it does

| 3-4 weeks apart, one shot at a time, starting no sooner than 8-9 weeks, three rounds only That is what I would do. No corona and no lepto unless it is an extreme problem in your area.

| My vet told me he does the same thing.....6, 9, 12, & 16 I think he said. Our first visit was last week when Capone was only 8 weeks old, and our next visit is next week. Our breeder gave the shots at around 7 weeks, so that's why we're a bit off schedule. It makes sense to em though to spread them out....I know a few people whose puppies have had bad reactions to the injections. I just feel bad brining Capone to the vet that often. lol

| Sunshine was only 1 1/2 lbs when we brought her home at 12 weeks and my vet would only give her 1/2 dose at a time. She said her body is too tiny for a full dose.

YT 2000 Club Member | Jeter is tiny at 1pound 14 ounces at 19 weeks of age. I interviewed all the vets in my area before he was even born to make sure I was going with a vet I trusted. Jeter was 1 pound 2 ounces when he went to our vet when we brought him home. Our vet is great with Jeter and I trust his judgement. Our vet spaced his shots out at 3 weeks apart. He did not give Lepo. His rabies was his last shot he got and it was given by itself 2 1/2 weeks after he got his last set of puppy shots. He had no bad reactions to his shots at all.
