| Franklin is on Advantage for fleas and ticks.. although we're not currently treating him because it's too cold and he doesn't go outside yet. We'll probably start next month. Advantage is a once-a-month treatment that you just apply topically. As far as worming, he's on Interceptor that prevents heartworms, hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms. That's also a once-a-month treatment that is in pill form.

| treating Why use a possibly toxic roduct when you don't need to. In 18 years I've only had a problem one time and that was when my neighbor gave me a bed she got for her cat. She said she never used it but she muct have had fleas in the house. I dipped all dogs and repeated in a week and bombed my house twice and never saw another flea |

| One reason I am going to treat is because we are in the country, we live on 60+ acres in Alabama you can bring fleas in on your pants leg. I will wait until it gets a bit warmer. When the summer gets here we will be outside everyday at the pool. We are going to have fleas and ticks its just a given, no way around it.

| Ellie has only been dewormed once as an adult and the vet gave her Panacur. We did it only as a precaution. It is best to take a stool sample to the vet, so they can check for worms rather than medicate for no reason. I haven't used anything for fleas in awhile. The next time I have to, Ellie will be getting a bath in Dawn dishsoap and possibly Program.

| I forgot to mention that when Franklin got tapeworms, roundworms, and hookworms, the vet gave us Panacur. But you obviously would only use that if they test positive for intestinal parasites.

| My vet gave Jambo Revolution for fleas, ticks, heartworms and mites. I would prefer to find him something more natural but until I find a better alternative, I give it to him just to be safe for heartworms especially. |

| Don't know if it would be better to give separate flea meds (like frontline) and Heart worm (like HeartGuard), or to just go for the revolution and kill two birds with one stone. I know that Frontlinea dn HeartGuard both work very well, but I have not heard much about Revolution...and it just strikes me as being strong if it's also used for Heartworm...which is generally prevented with oral meds. Any ideas???? It'd be cheaper to use the Revolution instead of the other two...but I wanna do what best for my Ella.. |

| Winston has used Interceptor and Advantage with no problems. Heartworm is devastating and preventable. He's never had a single flea, so I'm satisfied. These are both given once a month.

| We use Revolution on our three. Until last year I used Interceptor...both work great, we only switched so we would have some flea protection as well.
