| Help My new yorkie is not feeling well!!!! Hello everyone, my 14 wk old yorkie is having some problems going to the bathroom. She is able to urinate but can not poop and is trying. About 30 mins ago she go sick and vomited. She does not seem to be feeling like herself at all. She is very quite has the chills as she is shaking like a leaf and just wants to cuddle and sleep. Is there something I can do to help her or should I take her to the vet. I am very worried about my little girl. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

| Welcome to YT!! I am sorry your first post has to be asking for help. The only advice that I feel comfortable giving you is to get her to the vet. She is far too tiny to be feeling this ill. I know it's Sunday, but does your vet have weekend hours or at least a call number? The vet has seen her for her first checkup, right? There are others here that can offer you interim advice until you can get her to the vet.

| Please, please take her to the vet right now. The vomiting and shaking worry me the most. Add that to "she doesn't seem herself" and it could be serious. I have her in my prayers that it's just a little flu. *fingers crossed* Tara |

| Please take her to the vet. If they don't come up with an answer, have them do a bile acid test. It is best to have one done on all Yorkies anyway.

| Just wanted to tell everyone thank you so much for your advice. I did take my lil Jazzi in and she is going to spend the night there tonight. They ran a Parvo test on her and it was negative Thank God, then they did a cvc on her. She was running a low grade fever. The cvc came back showing her white blood cell count a little high but the vet was not real concerned. He said he felt like I had got her in soon enough that after a round of anitbiotics today and some fluids that she will be ready to come home tomorrow. He also said that he liked to see that she still had fight in her as she was NOT happy with all the poking and proding he was doing!!!!! Again Thank you soooo much for all of your advice and guidance!!!! Will be glad to get her back home as we are just lost without her!!!! |

| That's so good to hear. I'm glad it sounds like nothing serious. But had you not taken her in, it might have turned into that. I hope she comes home much more herself tomorrow.
