| Do belly bands cause yeast infections??? A friend told me that her vet told her never to use belly bands because they cause yeast infections. I use them frequently and never had a problem. Has anyone ever had a problem with yeast infections from belly bands?

| My boys wear them all day (off at night) and they have never had a problem. I do use the Poise Pads which are super absorbent, though.

I get them at Wal-Mart. The size I get has 72 in a package and it is something like $11 to $13. Not too bad. Just kind of embarrassing buying them, Hee Hee. "Sure they are for your dog, LOL" I am thinking about making some waterproof belly bands with removable washable pads. That would save the trips to the store.

| We have been using BB's on Biscuit for over a year and have had no problems....he doesn't often wet them though. Does anyone know if a yeast infection in a male dog is easy to spot? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Belly Bands don't cause yeast infections - it is the prolonged moisture that can allow what is a present normal amount of yeast to progress to unchecked overgrowth, hence, infection.

| romeo never has a wet BB for more than 15min. he doesn't really pee alot in them. he pees outside and sometimes marks inside so it's usually just drips. once i smell it or feel the warm BB i change it quickly. so i guess if it's not wet he won't get a yeast infection.
