| Maggie went to vet, I have a ? Her temp is 103, Vet gave her an injection of Centrine/Pepcid/Azium He thinks its gastroentinitis and he says if she doesn't improve by morning to bring her back in. All morning she was very lethargic, and just not acting like herself, no appetite, following me around more than usual, and looking at me as if to say, Mom do something. She's snoozing on my pillow right now and the vet said she'd probably sleep alot tonite? Now, my question is, I'm supposed to meet my daughters boyfriend tonite for the first time, for dinner, and I don't want to disappoint her, but do I dare leave Maggie alone for 3 hours. My daughter says she would understand cuz she loves Mag so much! I really want to go, but what if........ Thanks!! Kathy |

| The temp isn't THAT high. Is she pooping, peeing and eating normal? Has she thrown up? Why that diagnosis with so few symptoms?

| No appetite today, threw up bile in front of vet, peeing fine, no poop yet today? He said her tummy was grumbling. Eyes, heart, lungs & gums looked fine. If she's not back to herself by morning he'll do bloodwork. |

Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | Hey Kathy! I'm so sorry your Maggie is feeling bad. Is there anyway you could have dinner at your house? That would solve both problems. You'd be able to stay with your Maggie AND meet the boyfriend. If that isn't possible, I'm not sure what advice to give. I know that I personally would be scared to death to leave her alone, but I tend to overreact when the puppies are sick (or even possibly sick). I hope someone who knows more about this problem and these symptoms will be able to give you some better advice! That's definitely a tough situation to be in. At least your daughter is understanding. |

| Thanks Ellie May, Chachi, & Angie! I guess I'll just follow my heart and stay home. My daughters bf is making a nice dinner, but he's owned by a Golden Retriver, so I know he'll understand. There's always tomorrow....But there'll never be another Magpie. You guys are the best!!! |

| If it was Ellie, I would stay home. I never start new meds (even one injection) and then leave her alone. I also would want to make sure her stomach isn't going to get any worse.

| Give her Maalox... about 3 cc in syringe.. It works wonders with upsets... Also be very careful...NO JUNK FOODD... this is usually the reason for this happening... I have a husband that I have to watch every minute... But since he's made some of the dogs sick and I made him clean up the mess and feel bad as them being sick.. So, he's getting much better...Hope this helps.. I've given this stuff before and with in a half hour they are eating again.. Hope you can try this as it's a easy fix and it can't hurt.. http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...kys/MicNov.jpg |
