Purely a guess (or wishful thinking) but I'd say it's better. The dark spots may be just the damaged tissue from being scabby for so long. Like if you have a sore for a long time, there is discoloration after it seems to be all healed up. :confused:

They will be taking a pretty big chunk of skin from his ear (several chunks actually), they have to put him to sleep using anesthesia which is a little dangerous, and they'll be keeping him overnight. If it IS vasculitis, that could mean that there's an underlying autoimmune disease such as lupus.

I am just so sad and scared for my little guy. It is breaking my heart to think of him sick or in pain. Please please if you think of it, keep him in your thoughts and prayers for the next two weeks that this will be just an allergy of some kind. The alternative is just too scary... :(
