I so hope you have a diagnosis??? Have they done a skin scrape?? Holding good thoughts and wishes for Marty ,, and You! our Daisy's skin is now black where she is healed from where her breakout was (demodectic mange),, found at my insistence after months and months of coming and going with the Vet assuming it was "contact rash", sadly it was demodectic mange and she is now spayed and at the end of her 60 day treatment (Clavamox-1 ml twice a day for 1 week,, then Promectin- 1/4 ML a day for 60 days) it was almost INSTANT recovery! I was of course devastated to find what she has,, but was glad to know finally, and her breakout was NOT typical,, hers is on her back,, but,, under the microscope it was easily told. I wish you all the best! and hope you keep us informed on Marty!!:aimeeyork |

My little guy Nobu has been progressively sick since he is 3 months old. He is now 20 months old and we just received a diagnosis that he has LUPUS. Yes, it is crazy and rare...but, after spending 15K on doctor bills, it is devastating to get this horrible news. We do not know what is going to happen but I am going the HOLISTIC route. Basically, he is tired alot, but the biggest issue he has, is a progressive skin problem. Severe non stop itching...He lost hair on his ears and hind portion of his body. Now he has lost all the hair on his nose and under his chin...and the majority of his body. I hope everyone out there reads this, because the vets will not diagnose until a fortune of money has been spent. We saw dermatologists, internists, homeopaths, surgeons...and no one was able to say LUPUS. And stay away from the Prednisones and other steroids...they will NOT help and will add to the issues. I wish you luck with Marty...he is in my prayers...I know how tortorous this is. |

I think the Prednisone and other meds are helping Marty so we are hoping and praying that it isn't lupus. The places where he used to have scabs are just black spots now. What were Nobu's symptoms when you first began to notice that there was a problem? |
I am so very sorry to hear of Marty's sickness. I have just now found your thread. I will keep Marty in my thoughts and prayers and hope that he will heal quickly and fully. Sending hugs to dear little Marty! |

Dear Angie, I'm so glad Marty's sweet little ears are better. I'm praying it was just an allergic reaction and will never come back. Max and Gracie Leigh send him yorkie kisses! |
Update We're going to the vet again tomorrow for Marty. As soon as we stopped treating his ears, the scabs returned so we really have to find out what's causing this. I'm pretty scared at this point because it's been such a persistent problem with no diagnosis. If you could keep us in your prayers tomorrow, we'd greatly appreciate it. I'm hoping we don't have to put him through a biopsy and surgery... |
Angie, you and sweet Marty will be in my prayers. Hoping for a good outcome. Sheilagh |

Praying for you baby to get better and hoping the Vet can figure this out! |
UPDATE: The vet said that we\'ll try the antibiotics for one-two more weeks since it cleared it up last time. She thinks maybe he wasn\'t on them long enough to completely get rid of it. She really doesn\'t want to have to put Marty through the biopsy and auto-immune testing so she\'s trying to be very thorough before taking that step. I hate the waiting, but if it will spare Marty pain, then I\'ll wait another two weeks... |
