| Question about Foods... As some of you know, I will be getting a new puppy in 2 weeks! I wanted to know what are some of the foods that can be given to both adults and puppies? Mr. Biggs is very picky and is currently eating the dog food roll by Natural Balance. I know it's not the best choice, but it's all he will eat. I'm hoping that once the puppy comes, he'll see the puppy eating the new food and he'll start eating it too. The only one I know of that's for both is Canidae All Life Stages....but isn't that big kibble? I know the puppy is going to need something tiny. Also, what's a good wet puppy food? I know I'm going to have to start him off on 1/2 wet and 1/2 dry.. Thanks!

| I would gently introduce yoghurt to his diet. I give my babies yoghurt, it is probiotic and can only help and keep them healthy, get the low fat one. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | The merrick's has a puppy food but the other foods are labeled as all life stages. So you could easily give them both the same food and maybe give the baby a bit of a vitamin to supplement. The pup your getting is already weaned and eating solids so you don't have to give a half and half of food. If you wanted you can maybe add a bit of warm water. The merricks makes a nice gravy with a bit of warm water. I personally dont' feed the canned stuff. They seem to get too dependent on it and in the long run I dont' think that soft is very good for Yorkies teeth.

| I have been feeding Canidae ALS but Blaze (who is 4.5 months) does not seem to like it much. I just switched back to Innova and I add a teaspoon of cottage cheese to their food along w/1/2tsp of Missing Link! I plan to introduce them to home cooking at some point. Good luck!

| I feed mine Natural Balance® Ultra-Premium Dry Food as it's for both puppies and adults. From what I've seen here NB is a good food so I don't know why you said its not of good quality. (i'm not trying to start anything but from other post on here people have classified it as a good one). And I feed it to both my new pup 2 month old Doxie and to Max who will be a year in March. And they are both doing great on it. And is much better than what my vet recommended I feed my little Doxie. She told me to feed her Purina Pro Plan and I was like no she even gave me a 8lb bag and I have not used it. Anyway back to the post and it comes in small bites although I just get the regular size and my puppy eats it well without any problems.

| Thanks everyone! I'm going to see what I can get samples of this weekend. I also think I'll look into the Natural balance, as I can get it at regular petstores. I didn't mean that Natural Balance isn't good quality....I just meant that because I know it's not recommended to feed the dog food rools alone....they prefer you to mix it woth regular food...but Mr. Biggs doesn't like anything else! lol

| I also need help, my little baby girl does not like to eat just her kibble, In fact I was feeding her nutro puppy, what the breeder was feeding her, but I switching to a natural lamb and rice food because she was loving the other dogs food. However she is still not eating that either. She ate it by itself one time but now just walks away, she would rather play than eat her food. The only way she eats her food is if i put some natural balance roll in with it or some wet food and mix it around. And even then sometimes she wont eat. I dont know what else to do because I doubt I will be able to home cook her food. Any suggestions because I would love for her to be on just kibble I know too much wet is bad for teeth. |
